After a VERY long hiatus posh motif is back!
I must say after casually browsing through the last posts I noticed a link about Alexander McQueen’s death, and thought it would only be appropriate to start off the new season with an expression of my obsession with his classic knuckle box clutch. After not being able to visit the exhibit “Savage Beauty” at the MET in NYC (reason pictured above). A girl can only dream to own a part of fashion history. I love how this elegant box clutch can also be so aggressive and beautiful at the same time, the juxtaposition of crystals and skulls just makes it magical.
It’s pretty obvious the couture house has maintained it’s raw theatricality in it’s subsequent collections all this thanks to Sarah Burton who has kept the DNA of the collection alive. Recent events like the Royal Wedding (the bride wore McQueen) and the countless visitors to the MET’s Exhibit (reportedly 650,000 among the 10 most visited shows in the MET’s History) remind us the appreciation of the late McQueen’s genius and the desire in all for signature tailoring and over the top eccentricity.
